She'd seen many like him in her forest before, standing proud and tall in the wind or lying in crystal clear streams, looking refined and regal. They came and went as they pleased, and didn't have any problem mingling with the natives, but he....

He was very different, holding himself almost in shame and disgust, avoiding of any life. Niou had seen him once and instantly become rather curious of him, following him for quite some time. She wondered if maybe her stalking was a little wrong, but he was just so different, so unique, so captivating....but not just his movements and habits, but also his monotone grey body that seemed to shift upon itself like smoke above the mirror-like surface of still water.

She lay against the ground, her nine pale blue tails splayed out flat below the underbrush and shrubbery. The Suicune before her was hunched over a small puddle, his own ribbon-like tails moving slightly in the breeze that was sweeping gently through her forest. She breathed quietly as she watched him turn his head slowly and before she realized his gaze fell right upon her. She froze and stared back into his eyes with her own bright red ones.

They were a liquid, shifting silver, staring into her very core, almost boring through her into the darkness behind. She flinched, remaining still and silent, her breath catching in her throat and her eyes fixed on him and his movements. He gazed back only a moment longer before turning away and bounding in a single movement, with the fluidity of smoke drifting on a breeze, into the trees and away.

Niou blinked, sitting upright to watch his faint form disappearing into the darkness of the forest, his coat catching the few moon rays that filtered gently through the gnarled and twisted branches of the oaks. She was more than surprised with the turn of events. Perhaps a shift in the wind had given away her scent,or maybe her breathing was too loud?....
